The Process
When conducting my research, I contacted individuals who currently practice witchcraft and studied some of the small, artisanal businesses that currently sell witchcraft materials. Through these conversations and explorations, it became clear to me that providing witchcraft with a more contemporary visual identity is necessary and desired by those who practice witchcraft. Nature and organic forms are injected throughout the brand through both type and image manipulation to remain true to the practice’s core values and it’s connection to nature.
The name Black Moon was chosen because it is a spiritual term used by witches to refer to a second new moon each month. Typically the time of a Black Moon is thought to be full of prosperity and good fortune.
